Francisco Gomez - Photographer
Raised amidst the vibrant landscapes of Colombia and South America, I embarked on a transformative journey to the United States at 16. At 17, I picked up a camera for the first time—initially as a hobby—but my passion for photography truly ignited in the 1990s when I had the opportunity to capture the breathtaking wonders of the Amazon rainforest during an unforgettable expedition. The rise of social media marked a pivotal moment in my career, catapulting my images onto the global stage and earning recognition for my distinctive perspective. As a proud member of esteemed organizations like the Photography Society of America (PSA), Nature First, American Photographic Artists (APA), and Nikon Professional Services (NPS), I have exhibited my work in the USA, Colombia, the Netherlands, and Germany. Editors at National Geographic have recognized the impact of my photography, and my images have appeared on the covers of numerous Colombian magazines. In 2018, I transitioned from capturing moments to curating experiences. I began sharing my love for Colombia by leading groups of photographers on uniquely crafted tours. These immersive journeys showcase the beauty of my homeland, introducing participants to the rich tapestry of its culture, cuisine, traditions, and the mesmerizing landscapes and birdlife that define Colombia.
